Only giving a 4 star rating because I went and got my food and drink to go. The ladies behind the counter were very friendly and seemed to be very familiar with a lot of the patrons. I love that. We got a cinnamon roll to go. That cinnamon roll was HUGE and oh so delicious once I microwaved it for 15 secs at home. Their coffee was good enough. I'll have to stop by here for breakfast/brunch and actually sit down. The ambiance is lovely. Ample seating. They do tend to get super busy for lunch during the week.

I love this place. I went here today to eat lunch & I was so impressed that I wish they stayed open for dinner because I would love to get food to go. I had the chicken feta wrap without bacon & tomatoes. Seriously I loved it. My friend got the fire in the whole chicken sandwich --- we split our meals so we could try both. I loved both of them equally. I now would like to try everything on their menu. Sweet potato fries are thick & not greasy at all. Their home made chips are delicious. Also I picked up a box of Girl Scout cookies up front. Best place ever. Everything was so fresh & mostly healthy!

Handcrafted coffee drinks set in a quaint location that's literally hidden in my plain sight on Coursey Blvd. service is prompt and the conversations with the locals/regulars is always on point. Outdoor seating is perfect for watching cars pass. Sets a great time for the day...

Love this place! Only con is that it's so busy around lunchtime that it takes forever to get your food. But it's so worth the wait! The staff are very friendly and work as fast as they can. I've never ordered anything that I wasn't completely satisfied with. Everything is cooked to perfection. Today, I ordered the "fire in the hole chicken sandwich" because the name caught my eyes. I LOVE spicy foods. The sandwich is dressed perfectly and so moist and juicy. There's a little kick but nothing you can't handle. I recommend it! I also ordered the "Napa chicken salad" to munch on later, and it just looks so colorful and tasty! Can't wait to dig in!

Quaint Neighborhood cafe in the Shenandoah area. Stopped by to try their pastries. I tried their lemon square and brownie. Both were good. Did not get the chance to try their meals. The dining area is small but the space overall has a bistro feel.

Finding a breakfast cafe in Baton Rouge has not always been the easiest task, especially if one wants to stay away from chain restaurants. Today, we needed to find a place to meet some friends for breakfast, so I suggested the Coffee Bean & Cafe, which I have passed many times in a past, but always forget to visit it! Finally, we had a reason to go. The cafe was very warm and inviting upon entering. We were greeted with such kindness and were not rushed while we ordered. My husband and I ordered the veggie & cheese omelette (w/ wheat toast), the 2 eggs over-easy with wheat toast and the soy-milk Sweetie Pie Mocha (drink special). The service was fast and eggs tasted great! A great atmosphere for small, casual business meeting and a perfect place a little hang time!

Great breakfast or brunch spot. Kind of pricey but well with it. I got the French toast and coffee. The French toast was some of the best I've ever had in Baton Rouge. It had a great taste and it was an awesome texture. I drove to work with it and it was still great not soggy like some. The coffee was just ok, so I went back to try another coffee (one of their specialties) and it was just I'm too. I guess I will just stick to the food here. Great spot overall!

Traveling from New Orleans to Houston. Found a four star recommendation for this restaurant online. Decided to stop and try breakfast. Bad decision! The special sweet potato pancakes were lukewarm at best and burnt on the bottom. The bacon had a rancid taste and was cold as if left over from the day before. To top it off there was an additional charge for refills of their lukewarm coffee.

First things first customer service here is awesome if they say your order will be ready in 15 minutes be there in 15 because your order will be ready . I ordered two eggs over medium cooked to perfection it came with choice of ham sausage or bacon i had sausage and bacon .also their Belgian waffles are to die for .also ordered the everything omelet it was good . but for the price the portion sizes were way off the omelet did not have enough egg .overall i was very pleased customer service goes along way .a little on the pricey side and egg portions could definitely be bigger other than that i will return.also while visiting i heard another customer also compliment the staff .that customer service was excellent and that their coffee was perfect.

I've never been to this location to eat. We regularly get catering service from here at work. The food is awesome and they always have a variety of different food. They're always on time and very nice when they deliver. Also, if you order dessert...you have to order the banana cake!!! It is to die for! It's very soft, flavorful, fresh and the icing on top is perfect. Yummy!

I've been here several times...have even taken three separate family members here bc of the food and the whole ambiance of the restaurant, however, I was very disappointed in a recent visit of mine. Because of this, I just can't give it the 4 stars I want to give it. For me, how you know a restaurant, or any place of business for that matter, is top of the line is how they handle a problem. If they don't handle the problem in an efficient manner I can completely be turned from that place. Basically I made an order over the phone and when I received it, both food items I ordered were completely wrong. The first item was a grilled chicken sandwich, with specific items on it. It had condiments on it that I did not ask for. When I brought it to my waitress' attention, she said "well you didn't say you didn't want it". I also didn't say I did want it when I told you I was customizing my own sandwich, smh. The second entree I ordered was a grilled chicken salad. I received a chicken salad salad. When I brought that to her attention she asked me did I just want to keep the salad and add some chicken? No, that's not what I want. I want what I ordered. I explained that to her and she said ok and went to the back to handle it. After that I proceeded to wait and extra 20 more minutes for my food. What frustrates me about that too was that she never checked back with me until I literally stood up by the counter to ask her how much longer would it be. Typically service here is not bad at all so to encounter this type of lack of attentiveness was surprising. Also what was surprising was that no one else working spoke with me and no one apologized for this time consuming mistake. After such a big inconvenience you would think that the croutons I requested to be added to my salad would've been in abundance but even with that it felt like I was given 5 croutons. I decided to come back a couple days later and try again...to make sure this little neighborhood spot was just having a "moment". I was much more pleased the second time. The order was correct and the lady who helped me was friendly. I can say though, I've noticed that no matter the time of day, the food seems to take a long time. It was very slow and it still took 30 minutes from time of order when I was told it would only be 15-20. That's one of the reasons I wouldn't have been able to give a 5 star, had the previous situation not happen. They have not lost my business, I just hope in the future they consider their customer when situations like what happened to me happen.

Everything tastes very homemade and fresh. The ladies that work there (owners?) are super friendly. Excellent pancakes and BOMB muffins. Highly recommended!

Not being from a particular area. I do rely on Yelp to find good places to eat This definitely lives up to its 4 star rating. Staff is helpful, personable and quick with the delicious food. Everyone was beyond nice. Food tasty warm and great! We will be back for breakfast again

On today's visit, my first time actually setting foot in coffee bean, the owner made me feel like I was just another number and that my business didn't matter. Myself and a coworker decided to order coffee bean for lunch. We ordered 2 crawfish salads to go - my coworker then picked it up within the 15 minutes they said it would take to have it ready so that the crawfish would still be hot or at least warm. When I opened my salad the lettuce was brown and wilting and the crawfish was cold and seemed as if it had been sitting for a while. I brought the salad back to Coffee Bean and requested a refund. The owner, Amy, came out in a defensive manner and told me I could only get a store credit because it was unfair to her that I returned the salad. She said this is how she always serves her food- this baffled me. Isn't it unfair to serve customers old food, let alone defend your less than mediocre service? She then went on to say that I'm the one with the problem. After insisting that I take a store credit, she finally agreed to give me a cash refund but only if I promised to never come back again. After the poor service I received today she has absolutely nothing to worry about. If she was willing to let those salads leave her kitchen and then have the audacity to defend it, I question the safety and cleanliness of their food handling, storage, and practices. I wish I had taken a picture before they shuffled my wilted salad on to the back - probably to serve to another unsuspecting customer.

Very passable cappuccino. The cinnamon roll french toast is wonderful. The service was very courteous. I will be back.

Very nice service and atmosphere, I ordered the skinny sugar free salted caramel latte which was delicious, not too sweet. The veggie omelette was also delicious!

Pros: good, inxpensive food; yummy lunches and the BEST cinnamon rolls in Baton Rouge. Cons: Slow if a large group comes in ahead of you - the food is good and cheap, so the wait crew is perpetually understaffed. Also, it's entirely YOUR fault if they get your order wrong.
